Jada was diagnosed with Juvenile Polycystic Astrocytoma, a brain tumor, at the age of seven. Although she has already endured four surgeries and extensive chemotherapy, the tumor has grown quickly. She suffers from severe headaches, seizures, and is violently ill from the chemo. After much research, Jada’s mom found Ben Carson, MD, a pediatric neuro-surgeon specialist at Johns Hopkins, in Baltimore. He is able to perform a rare, delicate surgery. Unfortunately, he is out-of-network, therefore, the family anticipates significant additional expenses. Jada will have to undergo more chemo in hopes of shrinking the tumor, before this surgery can be performed.
